Since 1983 P & F Equipment Co. has been building quality hooping equipment that is built to withstand the punishment of a commercial embroidery environment; and holds the original patent on the Hooping Press. (sometimes called a hooper) For over 20 years, we have built The Worlds' Finest Embroidery Hooping Equipment. The Hooping Press is foot operated so this eliminates all hand hooping and the physical stress and carpel tunnel syndrome associated with hand hooping. Let the press do all the work by using the foot pedal to firmly press the hoops together on the garment or material. |
| |
The Hooping Press allows you to hoop consistently and accurately every time helping to eliminate the rejects from the hand hooping mistakes. The press can be used on shirts, jackets, sweatshirt, caps, panels, blankets, bags, sleeves, and the list can go on. If you hoop it by hand then our press can take the work & stress out of it. Even the most inexperienced employee will find it easy to use. The Hooping Press will have all your employees hooping quickly and accurately in no time at all. |
| |
We also offer a Cap Press that works with the EMS Hooptech Cap Frames to eliminate the hand stretching of finished caps. Every industry has its problems; hand hooping is the major problem in the embroidery industry, regardless if you are a commercial or a home embroidery shop. From single head to multi heads we have a press to fit your needs. So see what we can do for you! Remember hooping can be easy...Step up to the P & F Hooping Press!!! |

"Battling Bags" |
| |
Toppers Inc., a large bag and hat company in Thorofare, N.J., manufactures its products overseas, but will embroider the finished items for its customers. They have an embroidery facility with 125 heads that run eight to 12 hours a day, and most of the products they sew are bags. They use framing equipment from P & F Equipment Inc., Stokesdale, N.C. The framing press allows the user to set the correct tension for a bag, then use a foot lever to press the top piece of the hoop into the bag and the bottom of the hoop. Figure 1 shows Denise Masoorli, an embroidery specialist at Toppers, preparing the framing press by adjusting the tension and measuring where on the framing grid to place the top of the bag. Figure 2 shows Masoorli using the foot petal to push the top of the hoop into the bag and the bottom of the hoop, and Figure 3 shows Masoorli with the hooped bag.
“The framing press works really well for us,” says Masoorli, who has been running embroidery machines at Toppers for four years. “It's much easier than hooping manually. I run a 15-head machine. Most of our logos are 8,000 to 12,000 stitches. The framing press allows me to have the next run ready to go and still watch the machine. I can't imagine how we could produce the amount of product we do if we hooped manually.”
Mary Rancer, vice president of P&F Equipment, says her company's framing press is particularly helpful with bags. “When you are hooping a bag, you need two hands to keep the bag in its correct position while pushing in the hoop. Because one uses her foot to push the hoop into the bag, a two-person job becomes a one-person job. In addition, the framing press is a tool that lets you do more with less wear and tear on the embroiderer.”

"Hold On To Your Cap" |
| |
"The type of framing press you use also affects the quality of your cap embroidery. Those who are still framing by hand may find this questionable, but, the fact of the matter is, you cannot pull and tug on caps enough to get the fabric taut. Instead, with a framing press, you can get the fabric much tighter. It is interesting, but as I travel and go into large production facilities, I see employees still framing by hand. In some cases, the framing press is sitting over in a corner. This is due to the lack of training. It is essential to train properly for using the best equipment and producing top-notch embroidery. I highly recommend framing presses not only for caps, but for flat goods as well. They allow for more pressure when framing, which allows you to go through the thickest of garments. We always get a better-framed cap with a framing press than we get when framing by hand."
